Two Connecticut Lottery players claim over $177K from 9 winning tickets sold at same location

Two Connecticut Lottery players claimed a combined total of $177,080 in prizes on Wednesday.

A West Hartford resident won a total of $127,080 from seven winning Play 4 tickets. The prize amount for three of the West Hartford player’s winning tickets were $25,000 each, and the remaining four tickets were $13,020 each.

Another Connecticut Lottery player from Ludlow, Massachusetts, won a total of $50,000 from two winning Play 4 tickets. The prize amount for each of the Massachusetts resident’s tickets was $25,000.

The odds of winning $25,000 or $13,020 from a game of Play 4 are 1 in 10,000 for both prize amounts, according to Connecticut Lottery’s website.

Both of the Connecticut Lottery players purchased their winning tickets from Sam’s Food Store, located on 1149 New Britain Ave. in West Hartford.

The prize amounts for Play 4 range from $14 to $25,000. Twice a day, four numbers are drawn that players can try to match with their Play 4 tickets. Players can win in multiple ways if their numbers match the numbers drawn, according to Connecticut Lottery’s website.

Play 4 is played in $.50 increments, beginning at $.50 up to $5.00 per wager. Players can also opt to add a “Wild Ball” wager to double the cost of their wager.

Day drawings for Play 4 occur daily at 1:57 p.m. Wagering closes at 1:45 p.m. and reopens at 2:01 p.m. Night drawings occur at 10:29 p.m. Wagering closes at 10:20 p.m. and reopens at 10:46 p.m.
