Toyota recall includes Toyota Highlander, Highlander Hybrid models

More than 550,000 Toyota vehicles have been recalled due to a seat back defect that could increase the risk of injury.
The March 5 recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the “second-row seat backs may fail to lock into position during seat back adjustment.”
The agency noted that the issue could lead to an occupant not being properly restrainedin a high speed collision scenario.
Here’s what to know about the recall.
Which models are included in this Toyota recall?

According to the notice, approximately 550,007 vehicles are potentially affected. The models included are:
- 2021-2024 Toyota Highlander
- 2021-2024 Highlander Hybrid
The recall numbers are 26TB06 and 26TA06.
What consumers should do if they have a recalled vehicle
The NHTSA advises owners to notify the dealership, where the return springs in the recliner assemblies will be replaced for free.
Notification letters will be sent out in April. Consumers can reach out to Toyota’s customer service line at 1-800-331-4331.
