It should have been one of those clean, unforgettable March Madness moments. A late shot. A team celebrating. A season saved in the span of a few seconds. Texas had just taken the lead with 1.1 seconds left, and everything pointed to a dramatic but controlled finish. But March does not always allow things to stay simple.

Before the moment could even hit home, before players could fully process what just happened, something else took over. Confusion. Urgency. A mistake that could have changed everything. And on the sideline, one person saw it immediately. Sean Miller didn’t see a win in that moment. He saw how close it came to turning into a disaster.
