Robert Irwin spotted with new girlfriend Ashleigh Scully in NYC

The 22-year-old wildlife warrior and American wildlife photographer, Ashleigh Scully, 25, were seen arriving at Hulu studios together, doing their best to keep a low profile given the amount of interest about their romance.

Determined to keep their budding romance under wraps and in an effort to dodge being photographed side-by-side, Ashleigh strategically walked a couple of metres behind Robert as they made their way into the studios.

Of course it wasn’t enough for prying eyes to capture exactly what was going on.

Following his big win on US Dancing with the Stars alongside pro partner Witney Carson, and a brief stint back home in Oz, Robert is back in NYC to promote his new spin-off series Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro, where he’s landed the cushy gig as host. The series is set to premiere on July 13th on ABC and Hulu.

Ashleigh’s support act during her man’s promotional trail has silenced recent rumours that the couple has hit rocky grounds just months after sparking up their romance.

According to reports, Robert’s family has expressed concerns about his new love – namely the rapid speed at which he has fallen for her.

“It’s not that they’re questioning Ashleigh herself,” a source told US tabloid In Touch Weekly.

“In fact, they think she seems lovely and can completely understand why he’s so taken with her. Their concern is more that he’s already racing ahead and making all sorts of plans when the relationship is still very new.”

Despite their alleged concerns, Rob is believed to be pushing to integrate Ashleigh into the family business, and “wants her spending time at Australia Zoo, getting to know the family business and becoming part of the wider Irwin world.”

That task shouldn’t be too hard. The award-winning wildlife photographer is no stranger to the Irwins, having worked with the conservationists very early on in her career.

Back in 2018, Ashleigh posted a snap of her posting with a very young Robert, his mum Terri and big sister Bindi on Instagram, urging her followers to help put a stop to hunting grizzly bears in Wyoming.

“Please consider joining me and my friends the Irwin’s by speaking up on behalf of Wyoming’s grizzly bears,” he post read. “The planned trophy hunt of 24 grizzlies is scheduled for the fall of 2018 and we can still influence this decision.”

It is believed Robert and Ashleigh have maintained a close working relationship since before things turned romantic after his stint on DWTS and extended time spent in the US last year.
