11 P.M. NEW TONIGHT. ROADS ARE BACK OPEN IN SACRAMENTO AFTER A CRASH INVOLVING A SACRAMENTO POLICE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED AT SAN JUAN AND TRUXEL ROAD ROADS IN THE SOUTH NATOMAS AREA AND KCRA 3’S PEYTON HEADLEE HAS BEEN LIVE AT THE SCENE WORKING TO GET MORE INFORMATION AND PAYTON. THINGS LOOK TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE CALM BEHIND YOU NOW THAN THEY WERE AT 10:00. YEAH, JUST ABOUT 30 MINUTES AGO, THERE WERE FIVE TOW TRUCKS AND A LOT OF POLICE CARS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION HERE YOU CAN SEE IT HAS SINCE CLEARED. SO GOOD NEWS FOR TRAFFIC IN THE AREA. ROADS ARE ABLE TO GET THROUGH. BUT WHEN WE FIRST GOT HERE, WE SAW SACRAMENTO POLICE VEHICLE JUST ABOUT ON TOP OF TWO OTHER CARS, AND THEN WE SAW AT LEAST FIVE DIFFERENT CARS BEING TOWED AWAY, TWO OF WHICH WERE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES. THREE OTHER CARS THAT WERE AT THE INTERSECTION HERE. SO RIGHT NOW WE DON’T KNOW WHAT LED UP TO THIS COLLISION. IF IT WAS IN A PURSUIT, IF THE CARS WERE JUST DRIVING ALONG OR HOW IT ALL HAPPENED. BUT ONE OF THOSE VEHICLES FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT WAS INVOLVED DID APPEAR TO HAVE SOME SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. INFORMATION FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT, THOUGH, IS THAT THERE ARE ONLY MINOR COMPLAINTS OF PAIN IN RELATION TO INJURIES WHEN IT COMES TO THIS CRASH. SO SOME GOOD NEWS THERE. AND THEY SAY THERE WILL BE A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION AS TO WHAT HAPPENED HERE. BUT AGAIN, A COLLISION INVOLVING FIVE DIFFERENT CARS. WE SAW TWO SACRAMENTO POLICE VEHICLES BEING TOWED AWAY. SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Two Sacramento police department vehicles were involved in a collision in south Natomas.

Just before 8:30 p.m., a Sacramento police vehicle was involved in a collision on the 1500 block of San Juan Road, Sacramento police said.

KCRA’s crew on scene confirmed two Sacramento police vehicles were towed away, one showing significant damage. Three additional vehicles were towed.

The area of Truxel Road and San Juan Road was reopened just before 11 p.m.

Sacramento police tell us there are minor injuries reported; it is unclear what led up to the crash.
