NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A man died Saturday morning after a rollover crash on Interstate 40, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The sing-vehicle crash happened at 7:15 a.m. Saturday on I-40 East at the entrance ramp of I-440 East, MNPD said.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Toyota Tundra was traveling east on I-40 at a high speed when it entered the I-440 entrance ramp and failed to make the curve. The truck ran off the left side of the ramp and rolled.

Police are investigating to determine if impairment played a role in the crash.

The driver, Jayson Braddy, 39, of Nashville, was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, MNPD said.

“Toxicology testing will be conducted to determine whether impairment played a role in this fatal crash,” MNPD said.
