Majority of fans want Michigan QB Tommy Carr to start, bench Bryce Underwood

Earlier this week, we asked fans whether they want to see Bryce Underwood remain Michigan’s starting quarterback or let Tommy Carr take QB1 duties. The results are in, and most are demanding a change at the position.

73% of fans want to see Tommy Carr at quarterback when Michigan returns from their bye week next Saturday. Michigan faces Penn State. Per FanDuel Sportsbook, Michigan is currently tied with six other teams for the lowest odds of winning the Big Ten at +40000. When you put the low chances of winning the Big Ten or making the playoffs into perspective, why not make a change and see what Carr has in live action?

Michigan needs to figure out who their starting quarterback is in 2027. Underwood’s had 18 games to show improvement, and there has been little to no improvement from him. The voting totals are a reflection of fans being fed up by Michigan’s 3-2 start to the season. Whether Carr starts against Penn State or down the line this season, he absolutely needs to see the field or it’s a disservice to the team. More losses seem bound to follow this season, especially with Underwood — a change to Carr could be what this team needs to bring a newfound energy and path.
