Greensboro is expanding its housing options with thousands of new homes to accommodate the influx of jobs from JetZero as part of the “Road to 10K” initiative.

According to the project’s dashboard, over 3,000 new homes have been completed or are under construction. This includes nearly 2,000 apartments, a dozen duplexes, and more than 500 single-family homes and townhomes.

Samuel Hunter, director of Greensboro Housing and Neighborhood Development, said the city is on track to reach its goal of 10,000 new homes by 2030 and is ready for JetZero.
“We really encourage the economic growth that the city of Greensboro is experiencing and our entire county, but we know when those jobs come, they have to have a place to call home,” Hunter said. “And so really we do a lot of forecasting; we work with infrastructure departments, where growth will be, where future housing developments are coming online, and it is quality housing in addition to quantity.”
