Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell don’t often step out for red carpet date nights—but when they do, they certainly know how to pull of a glamorous sartorial couple’s moment. Appearing at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 17, the pair of 42 years looked like true Hollywood royalty in matching glitzy black ensembles.

Hawn opted for a slinky black slipdress, which featured a pleated bodice and a loose, tiered floor-length skirt. She paired the gown with over-the-elbow black opera gloves and a statement necklace, along with her signature blonde bangs.
As for Russell, he looked dapper in a black tuxedo and bowtie as he posed with his partner.

Hawn also posed with her daughter, Kate Hudson, at the event, who looked glamorous in a dramatic champagne-colored gown by Armani Privè with a sweeping carved sculptural detail.
Hawn and Russell have been together since 1983. The pair share a blended family with kids of their own from previous relationship, including Hudson, as well as their son, Wyatt. The couple also share eight grandchildren.
“It’s great, and it’s a joy to watch them,” the 80-year-old actress once told Good Housekeeping. “I have great children, and they’re incredible parents. I love seeing them with my grandchildren, and I think the lessons they’re learning are putting them in a good direction.”

Back in January, Hawn shared a simple one-word secret to their 42-year-long relationship. Speaking on “The Dan Buettner Podcast,” she shared that “freedom” was what made it work. “I have a relationship with birds,” she explained. “I’m a bird. And you leave the cage door open, I may never fly out. But if you close that door, for my freedom and my independence, I would probably take all my feathers off.”
