Most New York Giants fans don’t hold much credence in anything the Dallas Cowboys or any of their players — current or past — have to say about their team. Why? Because it’s usually not very flattering.

They might want to listen to this latest comment from Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, though.

Irvin’s former team, the Cowboys, will open their 2026 regular-season schedule against the Giants at MetLife Stadium next Sunday night in a game that, even though it’s early in the season, could set the tone for both teams this year.

In a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Irvin predicts Dallas will do what they’ve done in 16 of the last 18 meetings: Beat the Giants. But then, he hit Cowboys Nation with a dose of reality. Things might change drastically after that because John Harbaugh’s system and way of conducting business will have crept in.
