Andre, 24, has impressed in central midfield despite Wolves’ dire season which has put them on course to be relegated from the Premier League.

With Casemiro leaving on a free transfer this summer, United are looking to bring in two new midfielders.

Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba of Brighton are among their big targets.

But Andre has emerged as another option thanks to growing endorsements within the United squad.

As well as Casemiro, both Bruno Fernandes and former Wolves star Matheus Cunha have tipped him for the top.

Andre has spent the past two seasons at Molineux after joining from Brazilian side Fluminese in a deal worth up to £21million.

It understood a deal of around £35m would lure him away although that figure could plummet once Wolves go down.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also understood to be interested.

Casemiro, 34, is leaving United once his contract expires at the end of season.

Despite interest from his homeland, the ex-Real Madrid star is keen to stay in Europe. Porto are believed to be the front-runners for his signature.

Casemiro was included in the latest Brazil squad ahead of the World Cup.

But there was no place for Andre, who has won 13 caps.
